Adis Soriano and her “Cromologías” in El Salvador
After a pictoric carreer in Mexico, United States & France, the Salvadorean painter Adis Soriano will have an expo on the 15 of may to the 31 of august 2014 at the national expositions chamber Salarrué from San Salvador, invited by the Secretary of Culture of the Presidency of the Republic.
Profesor Gérard Teulière says, from the university of Toulouse (France) :
“ Adis Soriano´s art roots in diverse currents that resolve in an intelectual and artistic proposal totally personal. One of he sources is the latin american native art, marked by color, the strength of myths and the strength of the elements, as it can appear in the Oaxacan painters, ancient city where he lived for many years and met Francisco Toledo. The other inspiration current, more formal, is that of Colorfield Painting, that places it squarely in the heart of modernity, in the wake of the greats of geometric abstraction or abstract expressionism, like Rothko or Newman, and its New York beginnings. Finally, her approach to Washi Zoo kei, a Japanese technique steeped in oriental spirituality, opens her up—not toward exoticism or “Japanism”—but toward the fields of a high spirituality that brings its original stone to human culture. From Tokyo to Mexico, passing through the museums of Texas and the galleries of Toulouse, the serene and refined painting of Adis Soriano renews the demonstration of that syncretism in each of her exhibitions.
